I totally enjoy every opportunity I am afforded access to the lot at CBS Studio Center. One of the most rewarding perks is being able to roam around the lot and see the different studios where classic sitcoms were filmed.

I've been on this lot several times, most recently for an episode of Seal Team. Almost all interior shots for the show are filmed on their own soundstage. Even the C-130 transport place. All in 1 soundstage. A lot of history here. I've had the chance to walk the entire lot unescorted every time I'm here. I literally bumped into LL Cool J last year because NCIS Los Angeles also films there. This place had the lagoon from Gilligan's Island but it was turned into a parking garage years ago. This place is cool. Probably my favorite studio and I've been to them all. A lot of history here and you can feel it as soon as you step onto the lot. I'll post various pictures that I'm sure you'll recognize from some film or television show. It's not open to the public but you can get tickets to see a show taping. You'll get to see some of the place but not much. This was also the home to Seinfeld amongst many more.

I'm heartbroken, so understand this is a biased review. I couldn't believe my luck to score 2 tickets to see whose line is it anyway being taped. The instructions say to show up at 4 pm and to show up 15 minutes early rather than 5 minutes late as it is a first come, first serve basis. So, we did just that.

Unfortunately, we didn't know that those instructions actually meant show up 1-2 hours early to be guaranteed. We watched person after person be accepted in before us (despite showing up 30 minutes after us). After a full hour of waiting in a very slow moving line, we were told that they had no more available seats in the studio for the remaining 56 of us still in line. However, because they made us wait, the best they could do would be guarantee us tickets to a future taping with "VIP tickets" (hence all the other mass amounts of people who showed up after us being let in, preventing us from seeing that day's taping).

Why give out SO many tickets? Some people are only in town for 1 day. I won't lie, this has really soured my views of the show and I'm kind of just done. I just don't want to watch it which is so sad because I have such fond memories but genuinely this is such a black cloud over all of that. There has to be a better solution than "oh well, see you next time, guaranteed!"

I drove from Philadelphia for this... to be turned away after following their instructions and waiting for an hour... super messed up.

The studios are nice and updated, their staff and engineers are always very professional and knowledgeable. However, the studios are pretty small and our group isn't. Managed to get everyone in their own place, mics set up and comfortable but a little cramped. The big problem is when everyone is up, moving around during break. There's no extra room. We were tripping on wires and a couple of people bumped a mic accidentally when they reached for something they needed during a take. One of the mics was actually knocked down. We made it through, unscathed, but I'm not sure I can say the same thing about all their electronic equipment. Staff was prepared for problems like that and they had things back online quickly.
