My last 2 visits to this Panera would probably earn 4-4.5 stars but would’ve been 5 stars if the prices were more reasonable (I get it… bad inflation + bad economy = everything is expensive) but I’m rounding up to 5 because they have a poor rating right now. I contributed to that (my first 2 visits resulted in no food, wasted time and 1 star) but they seem to be on the ball now! We ordered a Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salad and a Mediterranean Chicken Greens with Grains and both were very generous portions and very good! The Mediterranean could’ve used more actual grains but the Green Goddess had lots of perfectly ripe avocado! I ordered with the Panera app for pick up at the counter and it was ready less than a minute after I walked in the door! We didn’t order drinks but I noticed that they have a large selection of sodas, teas, coffee‘s, etc that I might have to try next time!

The clerk was very sweet. The food was great. My friend had never been to Panera, and she was fascinated by the bread bowl soups. She wasn't overly fond of the tomato soup but loved the bread bowl and her sandwich. By the time we left, she decided it was her favorite place to eat. I hadn't been to one since I was in K.C. Missouri, and this didn't let me down. She wanted a sweet treat until she small the small little yummy looking thing was 12.99. Other than that it was great.

We waited five minutes at the counter before being served although more than one employee gave us an awkward glance during that time frame. It was really cold inside in the restaurant. Both employees and customers were wearing coats/jackets to stay warm. The food, however, was excellent.

Edit: I did call the manager the next day & Cynthia didn't make an excuses but did say they were really working to make it better. Gave me a refund & took credit for truck not arriving with items and the shift manager not helping me. Changed rating.
I do not give bad reviews, but I don't want others to make our mistake. We live out of town and order when we come back home at this location. Today our $55 order for 2 was ridiculous. I didn't want to take it out on the poor mistrained manager. First out of cheese for their special grilled cheese sandwich so had to go with a blta. We did pick 2 but looks like full price $8 $6, $14 combo. Got lemonaide for $4 small cup each. Added pastries. Came out of restroom to "We have no bacon would you like crumbles on your sandwich?" The sent me to the manager who said she could do grilled cheese with provolone ( we are out of a lot of things, was her answer). The cashier started ringing me up and asked full or half... um no I already pd $55. Manager said, I will get it an fix it for you. Get Togo and yep. Only got half a sandwich, she didn't even make a full one after all that. Other $8.39 half wasn't good and very small. Sipping this $4.39 Lemonaide trying not to call back for a full refund! I only gave 2 1/2 stars because my $7.39 cup of soup was hot and had flavor. Stop going here until they fix it!!!

I usually get a coffee and a pastry from Panera every single morning to start my day back at home. Not anymore, after visiting the Abilene Panera during a visit to a friend. Went with my friend to have breakfast, both of us with our (ADA protected) service dogs, and we were told we would not be allowed to dine in. Both of us are legally disabled and our dogs are impeccably trained for tasks and public access. I can’t believe how horrible and rude and degrading the manager was. She refused to give her name, but she had purple hair.

If I could give this less than one star I would.
I keep giving them a chance and regretting it!
BROWN lettuce in the salad - prepackaged salads from the grocery store look better than this one! I also got the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was horrible, the broccoli was soooooooooo skimpy and the chicken was chewy. 12/10 would NOT recommend. Nothing tasted fresh, and the bowl actually tasted kind of sour. Not sure what the deal is, every other Panera location I've been to has been great.

we recommend getting their Caesar salad and the turkey sandwich. They were pretty busy but our food came out pretty quick. They even made us fresh bread for making us wait super kind staff and a solid sandwich spot in Abilene.

We had some unique needs and they went out of their way to make the sandwich just right. It was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. Loved the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Thank for making our Mother Daughter Date a success.
