My husband has been a patient of Dr. Stephen Gerrish at Bay Care Gastro for several years but, without prior notification Dr. Gerrish is no long at that office. My husband had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Gerrish but, to his surprise at that appointment he meet with Amanda Lipscomp the PA. to Dr. Jody Berner. My husband also has a endoscopy scheduled but, since Dr. Berner made no effort to introduce himself & pushed him off to Amanda, he decided to cancel. We are now looking for a new Gastro Doctor. I would not give Dr. Berner a recommendation!!!

I saw Dr. Berner for the first time with multiple records to review. He did a thorough evaluation of my history and examined me. He wrote out his clinical notes as we proceeded and presented me with a copy as we concluded the visit with a schedule of procedures and dates. His assistant was so professional and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. I was referred by another doctor and very pleased with his care and attentiveness!

I have been coming to Dr. Berner for years. As far as the doctor goes, he is great. However anytime you book an appointment, even for a followup after a procedure, they always book you with an assistant. But the real problem is it’s always cancelled the morning of! This has happened to me THREE times! There’s always an emergency of some kind last minute and they can’t come in. And then it’s many weeks, usually a couple of months or longer to get you rescheduled. I told them that’s a lot of emergencies and was told oh well things happen. I hate to change Drs because I really like Dr. Berner but this is getting to be ridiculous! I knocked off 3 stars for the 3 cancellations.

I have been with him almost 20 years, that should say something. I have UC and he has done a great job over the years treating me and makes me feel like his #1 patient, very caring, attentive, intelligent and compassionate. It is hard to get an immediate appointment as he books up weeks in advance. Well worth the wait. If it’s a true emergency he will fit you in. The office staff does a good job working with insurance and following up for him.

I have been a patient for 30 years. The past 2 years he has had to cancel my appointment and I get pushed off on the PA or NP. Neither one of them examine you, they just ask questions and see you next year. My appointment got cancelled again due to a tropical storm this week and can't get in for 5 more months or I can see the PA or NP. I guess it is time to switch to a different Gastroenterologist

Horrible! Referral from my physician, waited 2 months to get in, then 2 HOURS in the waiting room only to end up seeing a nurse, not the Doctor. Filled out my medical history 2 times.

Very busy doctor, I tried to make an appointment when i called the lady asked me for my phone number so she will call in afternoon just to schedule an appointment. I refused and said NO THANK YOU and she HUNG UP the phone.... RUDE !!!
I guess the Doctor is to busy to make an appointment, I wounder how much time will have to talk or examine a patient I SAY NO THANK YOU !

Dr. Berner was recommended to me when age dictated that I establish a relationship with a Gastroenterologist...if you know what I mean...and if you're over 50, I'm sure that you do!
When I was given this recommendation by a friend, I wondered - Who recommends a Gastroenterologist? Who even TALKS about Gastroentorology?!
Turns out that this, too, is an older guy "thing" - when you find a good Gastroenterologist - you want to pass the name around...kind of like an honest car repair shop, or a timely roofer!
Anyway, Dr. Berner and his staff take care of their business with the perfect combination of professionalism, care and good humor. I HIGHLY recommend them!
