Care coordinators switch too frequently. They are inundated with cases and do not return calls. You are just a number here. Please pick another OPWDD service provider.

First let me start by saying my sister Nola does her best taking care of & advocating for my nephew. So when this incident happened it was not surprising to me as the supervisor/case coordinator that was handling my nephews case (1) could not make a simple Dr's appointment. (2) She had a smug & rude way during the handling of his case, but it really showed during & after his semi-life plan meeting. (3) But here is the cake topper - My nephew was recently injured at work. My sister had been working on getting the information needed to get him seen by a workers comp Dr, so a group email which included supervisor/case coordinator that was sent by my nephew's broker, for his initial budget (self-direction) meeting had slipped my sister's mind. The broker sent out a little email reminder on Friday afternoon. Nola replied to all apologizing for not getting back to them as my nephew was injured at work. Saturday, Nola replied to the meeting email again with possible days which everyone could meet. There was some exchanges between the broker & my sister which they had finally settled on date, Wednesday@10am. Monday morning supervisor/case coordinator emailed stating she had a meeting Wednesday @10am but she was available later that day 11:30am-3pm. Nola responded with two different options: first option was two new different days; second option, to hold the meeting on Wednesday @10 as planned & just update supervisor/case coordinator on what was discussed/set-up during the meeting. During these back and forth emails there was no mention from supervisor/case coordinator as to how my nephew was doing.
Let me stop for a moment -
Nola didn't even realize that the supervisor/case coordinator had not even inquired about her son: it was her son, my nephew, the person who this is about said "Momma she didn't even ask how I was doing." Let me continue - a date time was set for 6/20 @10am. Tuesday supervisor/case coordinator sets up meeting - no inquiry about my nephew. Wednesday morning still no inquiry. Wednesday afternoon around 1pm Nola sent email to supervisor/case coordinator wondering why she needed to attend this self-direction meeting? At that point my sister was feeling that supervisor/case coordinator really didn't care. So around 2:30pm on Wednesday, Nola forwarded the email that she sent out Friday stating that my nephew had been injured at work to the enrollment supervisor being that she did not have or could not find the supervisor/case coordinator's supervisor's email address. In that forwarded email my sister requested a new case coordinator immediately as the present one did not have have my nephew's well being in her best interest. The enrollment supervisor copied my sister, Nola, into the forwarded email and wished my nephew well and a speedy recovery.
Thursday morning Nola gets an email from supervisor/case coordinator replying only to the email about why she needed to be present at his self-direction meeting stating - That as a member of the "circle of support"(supervisor/case coordinator put that in quotes not me) for my nephew's self-direction team, care coordinators should be present for the self-direction meetings whenever possible to support with planning and advocacy for the person. We going to let that sink in for a minute...
My sister was livid, she forwarded the email to her supervisor stating the supervisor/case coordinator was either tone deaf or just didn't care as one of the major players in my nephew's "circle of support" & she did not want Person Centered Services handling his case any longer. She went on to tell the supervisor/case coordinator that my nephew was injured at work & has yet to inquiry about how is doing, Her supervisor replied with a basic sweeping under the rug response, as was it was buried amongst other emails. My sisters replied that it was unacceptable yesterday's email was not buried & she could have fixed the problem in her earlier email. Still NO MENTION OF HOW MY NEPHEW IS DOING FROM HER!
My nephew is left feeling like their "cash cow."

I do not know what I would do without this service agency. My worker has helped me with my Down's son is many ways. She helped me to get him a three wheel bike, camp tuition to a special camp every year, and helps me seek other opportunities for him. She is central to helping me keep him in a theater based day hab every day. I highly recommend this agency.

Very disappointed with the care my loved one is and has been receiving. I have been in contact with a supervisor who was helpful however the experience can't be changed.

*Edit 4/16/23* STILL DISAPPOINTED!!! This is ridiculous, quality of life is not prioritized with this agency! ☹️

I can't give ZERO stars! Was illegally referred here by another company and they made some mistakes providing these services to me that I factually don't need or want. KATIE is the person who should be fired.
