The Kitchen Studios offers a sense of home in a very busy, often cold and impersonal city. As someone who has worked in studios all over Los Angeles, I can tell you that it is hard to find a studio that does not smell like it has been hotboxed millions of times or looks like a spaceship. The Kitchen Studios, however, is clean and modern. There was no risk of a contact high just by walking through the halls. The sense of belonging and the atmosphere of the studio is difficult to replicate. It was very easy to create there and to come up with new ideas. It felt like I was working from my own home studio or even my bedroom. More importantly, the artist I was with was able to cut vocals from all over the room with no issues. Being able to change the recording situation was very useful for our process, and we would not have been able to do that with other studios.
The space offers a variety of analog and digital gear. Featuring a Neumann U87 microphone, a Tube-Tech compressor and an Apollo interface, we had everything we needed to make our next hit. In fact, there was such a wide range of equipment that I felt overwhelmed at times, but in the best way possible. We call making music, cooking.No matter the job or the genre, it could be cooked there. Kitchen Studios lived up to its name.
My second favorite part about the studio is the location. I love Santa Monica. Right next to a park and a great coffee shop, the studio allowed me to explore the surrounding areas, which is not an option in most of the scary areas where studios often are.. The surrounding area feels safe and that is an underrated variable when it comes to creating and the creative process. If you, or one of your friends was looking to take their music more seriously in the Los Angeles area, I would recommend Kitchen Studios. Here, there is no worry when waiting at the door to get in, and the whole staff is there to help you out.
Going off of that, everyone around the facility was so nice. I got to meet and say to almost everyone I ran into. The overall social vibe of the place was amazing. Some people even left their doors open and said hello when I walked by. When I went into the recording room there were cold water bottles on the table as well as napkins if anyone was going to get food. The producer that my artist and I were working with made sure we knew how to get around the building once the session started. This is very useful because you never know how many times you’re going to need to leave. Another really cool thing was that the owner stopped by and we got to talk to him. Really great guy.
I would love to work out of this studio for a full project, I think anyone would. It is hands down one of my favorites that I have been to and I can’t wait to come back and get some more work done.

As a producer and engineer, The Kitchen is the perfect space and vibe for music creation and post production. The rooms sound great and are well equipped with analog outboard gear, instruments, synths, guitar pedals, etc. Staff is responsive, well trained, and helpful. Overall great experience here!

The Kitchen is a very well equipped and inviting place to make music. A private location to let your creativity run wild. Will, the owner, makes you feel right at home as well as being a masterful instrumentalist and very knowledgeable engineer. Highly recommend.

I’m so happy to have found this recording studio. The space is super clean and equipped with a ton of gear (my favorite is the U87 mic). Will (the owner) and Jon (one of the producers) are super professional, and I’ve loved getting to work on my music with them. Definitely recommend checking this space out whether you’re looking for a day rental or looking to work on a song!
